Segway FAQ:

  • What is a Segway?

    • A Segway is a two-wheeled, electric-powered, personal transporter that uses gyroscope technology to keep you balanced while you zip around happily and unconventionally.

  • How does it work?

    • Lean forward to roll.  Lean back to stop.  Slide the handlebar side to side to turn.

  • How long does it take to learn?

    • Segways are incredibly easy to learn how to ride.  In as little as ONE MINUTE, you will start to get the hang of it.  Training for our tours is more extensive, as we ride on sidewalks and roads and need all riders to have a good handle on operating the machine.

  • How fast do they go?

    • After proper training, you can be gliding along at a top speed of 12.5 mph.  This is plenty fast enough, and quite thrilling when you are essentially standing in place on the segway.

  • Is there a weight limit?

    • The weight limit for these machines is 100 - 260 lbs
